Position Description:

The Client Operations team serves as a central operational liaison that focuses on oversight and enhancement to the portfolio event process including setting up new accounts and modifying existing portfolios. The incumbent will work cross functionally to uncover client needs, translate them into actionable plans, and execute accordingly. The incumbent will also work on operations-related projects associated with enhancing custodian communication, reporting optimization, and creating operational efficiency.

The Client Operations Associate ensures that all aspects of a portfolio event are handled properly and identifies opportunities to enhance processes and mitigate risks. The team will work cross functionally to identify, develop, and implement client solutions and enhance existing processes to improve the client experience. The team will assist in documenting project phases and creating summary reports for company management. This role will require working within a small PIMCO team environment and coordinating activities within several departments including: Client Management, Portfolio Management, Legal, Compliance, Funds Administration, Analytics, Performance, and Operations.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 3-7 years of professional experience within the financial markets, preferably focused on fixed income
  • Working or academic knowledge of economics, fixed income fundamentals, fixed income analytics, and/or portfolio management

  • Prior experience working in/with Client Management or Transitions Management
  • In process of obtaining or completion of CFA desirable

  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), facilitation, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to face off across all levels of an organization
  • Quick learner and adaptable to learn new processes, concepts, and skills
  • Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work collaboratively and independently
  • Demonstrated competence in thinking strategically, analytically, conceptually, and innovatively, including the ability to synthesize and analyze data
  • Ability to multi-task, work in a demanding, fast-paced environment and handle multiple, competing priorities and projects with high quality output
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate unstructured processes and simultaneously manage responsibilities of multiple-concurrent projects and competing demands
