Associate, Consultant Relations Group

Position Description

CRG Associates support Account Managers on the Consultant Relations team by helping them service PIMCO's institutional consultants. The associate's primary responsibility is to work alongside the Account Managers to deliver the highest level of service to consultants by responding to requests and sending information on the firm and its products. Other responsibilities include meeting preparation and participation, research of industry and financial markets information, risk measurement/analysis and special projects. Associates must exhibit a strong sense of urgency and be able to juggle multiple priorities. The successful Associate will operate well independently and be proactive and creative about problem solving.

  • PIMCO investment professionals including Consultant Relations AMs, Relationship Managers and Product Strategists
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Build strong relationships with consultant contacts to field requests while Account Managers are traveling.
  • Gather, analyze and discuss market trends and data
  • Summarize and explain PIMCO products and complex financial and economic concepts
  • Have a client service mind-set and exhibit a strong sense of urgency when responding to internal and external requests.
  • Have a fundamental understanding of financial markets combined with a strong desire to learn more.
  • Professionally communicate with all levels of staff, internal and external
  • Utilize effective time management skills to maintain a commitment to quality and attention to detail; ensure that all work is completed accurately and on time

Position Requirements

EDUCATION:
  • Must possess a four-year college degree with a preferred major in Business/Finance, or Economics.
  • Progress toward the CFA designation is a plus.
EXPERIENCE:
  • Ideal candidates should have two to five years of experience in financial services, asset management, investment banking or at an institutional consultant.
  • A strong background and/or interest in fixed income and economics is important
  • Ideal candidates are familiar with fixed income instruments and the economic underpinnings of the fixed income asset class.
  • Candidate must pass Series 3, 7 and 63 license tests.
