The Financial Analyst will support the Corporate Finance Department in monthly closing, quarterly forecasting and annual budget plan preparation. Under the guidance of senior members on the team, the incumbent will analyze financial results and performance measures, develop and manipulate spreadsheets, databases, and data analytical tools to produce standard or ad hoc reports, and prepare reports for senior management as needed. This role will have increasing responsibilities in revenue/expense analysis, involvement in departmental budgeting process, and analyzing performance ratios.

Overview

The Financial Analyst will support the Corporate Finance Department in monthly closing, quarterly forecasting and annual budget plan preparation. Under the guidance of senior members on the team, the incumbent will analyze financial results and performance measures, develop and manipulate spreadsheets, databases, and data analytical tools to produce standard or ad hoc reports, and prepare reports for senior management as needed. This role will have increasing responsibilities in revenue/expense analysis, involvement in departmental budgeting process, and analyzing performance ratios.  The incumbent will interact regularly with various departments that include IT, Legal, Client Services, Product Services, and Investment Operations, which will give the incumbent exposure to learning about other parts of the firm. 

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, analyze and research cost report, AUM & flow report and P&L related items.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly close, monthly forecasts and monthly business unit expense reporting.
  • Maintain database accuracy of key financial metrics (FTE’s, AUM and other financial metrics).
  • Assist in the preparation of Board of Directors presentations.
  • Provide support for the accurate and timely preparation of financial and accounting reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or a related field
  • 4-6 years of related general accounting or financial analysis experience required
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel is required (e.g., pivot tables, vertical look up and sum if statements)
  • Proficiency in BI360
  • Self-starter with solid communication and analytical skills required to meet aggressive financial deadlines under time constraints
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to effectively interact with employees in cross functional teams
  • Maintains strict confidentiality and adheres to high standard of professional conduct
