Operations Transformation – Performance Improvement Director

The Business Consulting Practice transforms value. Our Business Consulting (BC) practice consists of Financial Management, Strategy & Transformation, Operations Transformation, Digital Transformation & Management and Business Applications.
The Operations Transformation Performance Improvement Director Performs profitability analysis and develops and implements creative solutions that add near-term shareholder value to our clients’ businesses.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Manages major profitability improvement initiatives for our clients
Leverage relationships with senior client executives to improve our client’s businesses and expand the Grant Thornton brand
Assess client businesses holistically with a primary objective of identifying near-term profitability improvement opportunities
Meet or exceed targeted revenue generation targets
Maintain a good working relationship with clients and work effectively with client management and staff at all levels to gather information and perform services
Work closely with Grant Thornton managers and partners to promptly identify and resolve client problems or issues
Communicate (verbally and in writing) externally with clients and internally with all levels of the organization to successfully accomplish objectives portraying knowledge and confidence
Manage, develop, train, coach and mentor staff on projects and assess performance for engagement and year-end reviews
Motivate others to perform at maximum efficiency without sacrificing quality of the services delivered
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA a plus
10+ years of related work experience in a similar consulting practice or function servicing clients at a national level
Proven track record of driving business profitability (prior business development experience required)
Work experience to include significant experience in at least 2 or 3 of the following areas:
o Profitability Improvement
o Revenue Enhancement
o COGS Reduction
o SG&A Optimization
o Working Capital Efficiencies
o Data analytics
Excellent verbal and written communication
Ability to travel on short notice and work additional hours as necessary
Travel percentage: 80%
