We are looking for a System Engineer II to join a global team that is focused on supporting our data center and cloud-based business platforms. The System Engineer role will be responsible for the design and administration of our ITIL application suites including the Atlassian tools (Jira/Confluence) and Service NOW ITSM platforms. An ideal candidate is continuously pushing the envelope to help with greater automation and self-service across these platforms, with seamless integration into our Agile and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform Jira/Confluence platform upgrades. Maintain version compliance and patching
  • Configure, manage, and enhance Jira and Confluence tools, including native functionality as well as researching, testing, and implementing plugins
  • Manage, create, and maintain Jira project workflows, templates, and permissions
  • Troubleshoot access and/or performance issues.
  • Provide Jira SME support to customers via approved collaboration tools.
  • Design, build, and support applications and system integrations using JIRA and Confluence
  • Manage and develop add-ons and integrations with Atlassian applications
  • Create and maintain scripts
  • Create custom workflows, post functions, and validators, make changes to workflows, screens, fields, and reporting, and provide ongoing support and configuration maintenance.
  • Responsible for understanding the current process, gathering requirements, investigating potential solutions, analyzing impact, communicating with stakeholders, and implementing solutions
  • Interacting with Project Managers, Managers, Developers, Network Engineers and other Administrators
  • Create, manage, and support all administrative functions associated with the Atlassian product suite
  • Onboard new teams to JIRA and help existing teams optimize their workflows
  • Interviews end users to understand current performance issues and future demands to make recommendations for infrastructure enhancements
  • Documents technical design requirements and provides feedback to project team; including Visio designs, application flows, and configuration information
  • Monitor infrastructure incident queue requests and complete tickets within pre-defined SLAs
  • Familiar with the Atlassian product life-cycle as it relates to upgrades and installing/configuring new add-ons
  • Strong collaboration and customer service skills with the ability to build trust among customers and stakeholders
  • Ability to work on multiple projects with multiple deadlines
  • Strong Linux and TCP/IP fundamentals preferred (particularly in AWS environments)
  • Working knowledge of Networking, DNS, Databases (Oracle/MySQL/Postgres), Active Directory, APIs
Education and Experience:
  • Candidate must have a minimum of 3 years hands as Jira/Confluence administrator
  • Prefer Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Exposure to system design technologies desired.
  • History of working in an e-commerce and fast paced environment
Qualifications Required:
  • Strong Understanding of Linux server platforms
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of Jira/Confluence tools use methodology
  • Deep knowledge of Jira/Confluence troubleshooting
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong attention to detail, goal oriented
  • Ability to create complex JIRA workflows including project workflows, security schemes, screen schemes, JIRA vocabulary, and permission and notification schemes
  • Fluency in Confluence including security, spaces, design, and integration with JIRA
  • Ability to effectively prioritize work, troubleshoots issues, and complete tasks on time
  • Ability to work in a fast-changing, dynamic, and agile environment, including the ability to manage time and maintain an excellent work ethic
  • Good knowledge of internetworking technologies
  • Good leadership & analytical skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong inter-personal and customer service skills
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to self-lead through major projects
