The Risk Control Analyst (RCA) is responsible for identifying and documenting core operational processes and identifying and mapping all primary controls to each core process. The RCA will also establish and design core process flow charts and draft related primary control narratives where such flow charts and control narratives do not exist. This position is responsible for reaching out to and working directly with process owners, Internal Audit and SOX Program Management to assess the status of existing process and control documentation and work with each party to develop documentation of core processes and control maps/narratives, as necessary, to ensure quality documentation exists relative to management expectations.
Design process flowcharts in Visio
Work with process owners to clearly identify and map/document controls, while highlighting key/primary controls, for each core process within the Company’s operations.
Assess existing control design effectiveness for non-SOX processes, identify control gaps and rate the quality of controls for risk assessment purposes.
Work with process owners to remediate control gaps as applicable to bring control ratings in line with management’s expectations and risk appetites.
Work closely with Internal Audit and SOX to avoid the duplication of efforts in documenting core processes and primary controls in the Compliance Manager system.
Maintain the non-SOX control database in Compliance Manager.
Work with the VP Risk-Control Manager on broader risk and control issues, as applicable and as assigned.
Address regulatory recommendations related to control documentation and mapping, as applicable.
Perform special projects and related duties as assigned by the VP Risk-Control Manager.
BA/BS degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or other related fields or equivalent work-related experience.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in External or Internal Audit, Accounting or SOX related activities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio.
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills; ability to interact effectively with all levels of Company management, employees, auditors and regulators.
Ability to organize, prioritize and lead projects. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Maintain a familiarity with applicable accounting rules and banking regulations
Maintains proficient knowledge of all applicable accounting and banking rules and regulations.
Ability to deal with complex problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations
