Manager, Third Party Risk
This role will report to the Senior Manager of Third Party Risk under the Procurement organization within the Finance team.



The ideal candidate will be directly responsible with creating global third party risk management (TPRM) policies, governance frameworks, training, and requirements that will influence the use of third parties at SVB domestically, but also in global regions such as the UK, Germany, Canada, India, and China. They will also lead the second line of defense activities performed by the Third Party Risk group, which includes validating that our business units (first line) are executing the TPRM program requirements effectively. This role will also interface directly with the bank's regulators, Internal Audit, Compliance, and other risk functions to demonstrate regulatory compliance with TPRM rules and guidance.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:


  • Develop and maintain SVB TPRM policies and guidance, including trainings and other job aids to the first line business owners of vendor relationships
  • Coordinates the technology strategy of the TPRM team to ensure that we are using the best available tools and technologies to scale and maximize effectiveness of the program
  • Ensure that the TPRM program meets global regulatory requirements and expectations in all of the jurisdictions in which the bank operates
  • Work directly with internal risk management functions such as Enterprise Risk Management, Privacy, Information Security, IT, and Legal to ensure alignment with other risk peers across the bank
  • Lead the response to bank examinations, internal audits, and compliance reviews
  • Prepare third party portfolio reporting of risk and performance to Executive Committee, Enterprise Risk Management and senior executives
  • Performing oversight of first line reviews of SOC reports or other internal control documentation
  • Escalate third party risks to the appropriate level for resolution and coordinate mitigation plans to address material third party risks
  • Execute enhanced oversight and monitoring of the bank's Critical Risk relationships and Strategic Partners, which includes validating TPRM control effectiveness, management reporting, and assessing the level of engagement between the bank and the third party.





Qualifications


  • 8+ years' experience in third party risk management or similar roles involving compliance, operational risk management, vendor management, outsourcing and/or audit required
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or accounting is preferred; concentration in supply chain management a plus
  • CTPRP (Certified Third Party Risk Professional) a plus
  • Big 4 experience preferred
  • Financial services experience preferred
  • Familiarity with Excel, Tableau, and Vendor Insight is preferred
  • Demonstrated success in leading second line of defense monitoring and oversight activities
  • Experience developing policy, training, and external/internal communications with a wide range of stakeholders including executive management, regulators, Internal Audit, other internal risk groups
