SBA Loan Closer I
SUMMARY: This position is responsible for obtaining all necessary required closing information and documentation and reviewing same for accuracy and completeness for SBA and other government guaranteed loan products. This is a performance-based position that requires meeting certain production expectations as communicated by management on a periodic basis. Loan transactions are expected to be processed within the predefined service level agreements (SLA); accounting for fees incurred and funds disbursed is to be accurate and consistent to policy, and preparing loan documents for loan closing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties and special projects may be assigned.
* Ensure SBA loans closing, taking full responsibility of getting the loan closed sufficiently with the intent to please the borrower, protect the SBA guarantee, perfect the collateral, and protect the bank against any loss.
* Recognize and respect the complexity of SBA loans and the related processes.
* Comprehend and accommodate a diverse group of borrowers in which each requires a unique level of service and attention.
* Exercise due diligence to collect all required documents and ensure that SBA requirements are met.
* Prepare the loan files and related documents in accordance with SBA requirements and regulations.
* Contact borrowers as needed throughout the process.
* Keep database up-to-date.
* Update target closing dates depending on due diligence regarding third-party reports and other related documentation.
* Order and review flood, and other required searches for accuracy.
* Collect and store documents.
* Prepare loan documents in LaserPro and SBA workflow.
* Prepare closing instruction letters.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Loan Closer I: High School Diploma required, Business-related 2 year degree preferred. At least 3-5 years of commercial loan closing experience. Ability to function well in a highly independent work environment. Production Pipeline volume average of 8 -12 units. Experience using LOS systems. Experience using LOS systems. User knowledge of SBA Etran/SBA ONE preferred. High functioning, current knowledge of common SBA, Conventional and USDA loan program preferred. User knowledge of applicable regulatory compliance.
Loan Closer II: High School Diploma required, Business-related 2 year degree preferred. At least 5 years of commercial loan closing experience. Ability to function well in a highly independent work environment. Production Pipeline volume average of 8 -12 units. Experience using LOS systems. Experience using LOS systems. User knowledge of SBA Etran/SBA ONE preferred. High functioning, current knowledge of common SBA, Conventional and USDA loan program preferred. User knowledge of applicable regulatory compliance.
Senior Loan Closer: High School Diploma required, Business-related 2 year degree preferred. At least 7 years of direct SBA loan closing experience. Ability to function well in a highly independent work environment. Production Pipeline volume average of 12 -14 units. Experience using LOS systems. Advanced user knowledge of SBA Etran/SBA ONE preferred. High functioning, current knowledge of common SBA, Conventional and USDA loan program requirements. Strong knowledge of applicable regulatory compliance.
COMMUNICATION/LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, speak and write in the English language; Spanish (or other languages) helpful. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
REASONING AND ANALYSIS ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to work under pressure and ability to make decisions according to established guidelines. Travel may be required; advanced computer literacy in word processing and spreadsheets is required. Must be able to use Microsoft Office, and email. Ability to proficiently use office machines. Ability to work unsupervised and to accomplish tasks accurately and on a timely basis. Ability to work highly organized and prioritize work.

Can apply technical/professional knowledge, interpersonal skills, and sales methods to obtain customers' commitment to ideas, services, or products. Handles objections effectively.
