LGPS Central is now seeking to hire a Senior Stewardship Analyst to be based primarily in our offices in Wolverhampton with the option of also working from our Matlock office.
About the role
We are seeking to add a talented and motivated Senior Analyst to our RI&E Team with a focus on stewardship (voting and engagement). This is an exciting time for the organisation and the RI&E Team in particular. The role is challenging and rewarding and requires a competent analytical self-starter who can effectively support the Head of Stewardship and the RI&E team deliver the teams objectives.
The Senior Analyst will hold a key role within the team supporting the Head of Stewardship to develop and maintain LGPS Central’s Voting Principles. The Analyst will also be responsible for maintaining day to day management of LGPS Central’s relationships with external stewardship providers on voting related matters and support the annual review of services delivered. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role working closely with the Head of Stewardship on delivery of LGPS Central’s Annual Stewardship Plan including engagement on key stewardship themes. We are looking for a team player who will work with other RI Analysts in the team on integrating outputs from climate risk monitoring and ESG integration activities into stewardship priorities (voting and engagement).
There will also be the opportunity to get involved with other aspects of responsible investment including external manager due diligence and monitoring as well as ESG research at both corporate, sector and thematic level.
This is an opportunity that will suit an experienced and inquisitive candidate who is excited by the prospect of delivering a fully integrated RI&E function at a large regional pension pool and at the same time broadening their responsible investment experience.

The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level in a relevant subject with Considerable experience of working in Responsible Investment/ Stewardship/ Corporate Governance/ Proxy Voting. The candidate must have experience of engaging with corporates and be comfortable liaising with senior management.

To join our organisation to support the work of the Responsible Investment & Engagement team with a focus on ESG Integration (Manager Selection and Monitoring). The person in the role will report to the Director of Responsible Investment.
This role will be classified as a certified role under the Senior Managers Certification Regime (SMCR) and will be subject to Fitness and Propriety Assessments and any other such requirements as set out by the regulator.
