Based in the Midlands - Wolverhampton/Derbyshire LGPS Central Ltd. has been set up to manage the assets of nine Midlands-based Local Government Pension Funds on a pooled basis and will be an FCA-regulated AIFM with £40bn assets under management. The first assets are expected to be transferred in April 2018 and considerable work has already been carried out to ensure that the necessary infrastructure will be in place for this date.

An opportunity has arisen to appoint an experienced investor to take the position of Investment Director Infrastructure and Property. Based in the Midlands (Wolverhampton or Matlock, Derbyshire) the Investment Director of Infrastructure and Property will work closely with the CIO in Wolverhampton to build a professional, high performing Infrastructure and Property investment function across both locations. The successful candidate will influence the investor style and culture of LGPS Central. This will include working with the CIO to ensure that the size and skill base of the Infrastructure and Property team always meet the partner funds needs and supporting the CIO and investor relations function in communication with the partner funds.
First class interpersonal, people management and communication skills are essential for this position. The successful candidate will have experience of managing and overseeing investment portfolios and take direct responsibility for the £5bn Infrastructure and Property investments and team.
The post holder is expected to have substantial experience of successful investment decision making. They will hold a CFA or equivalent qualification or have relevant investment experience.
