Our client is one of the world’s largest Insurance broking companies that are building a growing presence in the UK including a Wealth Management and an Employee Benefits business. Under new leadership the Wealth & Financial Planning business is seeking a Regional Director for Woking.


  • Provide leadership and development support to the Wealth Management regional team to meet the business objectives and delivery of outstanding client service
  • Effectively communicate key messages to regional teams ensuring associated actions are followed through and embedded
  • Demonstrate extensive and up to date technical wealth management knowledge 
  • Implement all agreed propositions in the region as well as all policies, initiatives and procedures – ensure these are understood and applied by Consultants
  • Agree core and stretch business targets for regional team in conjunction with line management
  • Ensure the delivery of regional revenue targets
  • Ensure the profitable growth of the business by identifying and proactively developing and securing new relationships through professional connections and leveraging the Groups internal network
  • Proactively identify other new business opportunities for both Employee Benefits Consultants and General Insurance broking colleagues within the Group
  • Take overall responsibility to ensure all regional clients are profitable, serviced on the agreed standard / bespoke pricing basis, and fee invoicing process is undertaken in a timely manner
  • Monitor regional income to ensure financial control over Consultant portfolio and client budgets
  • Ensure team are identifying any potential unprofitable clients and provide recommendations on the options for improved client profitability or new business opportunities
  • Ensure that existing and new business in the region is secured by adherence to the firm’s engagement and reengagement procedures, with suitable protections in place
  • Maintain regular contact with all Consultants in region on an individual and team basis, to share and exchange views and drive forward best practice and innovation 
  • Ensure coaching and development of all team members to foster a high performing team culture to support the future needs of the business, market growth and opportunities. Address underperformance in a planned and appropriate manner
  • Deal with day-to-day team matters, including setting clear performance expectations, constructive and timely feedback and managing the ePDC process 
  • Responsible for recruitment and retention of staff
  • Manage data to provide accurate and timely management information as required 
  • Ensure compliance with the company’s business guidelines 
  • Act as an ambassador of the company and demonstrate actions and behaviours that adhere to our values, corporate objectives and standards
  • Carry out duties with our internal policies and procedures in accordance with applicable laws, rules, regulation, good governance and the company's shared values, including putting clients at the heart of our business
  • Meet the requirements of the four Cs principles – Compliance, Culture, Client Engagement and Collaboration
  • Carry out role in accordance with the FCA’s Statements of Principle and Code of Practice for Approved Persons and being mindful at all times of the FCA’s Principles for Business
  • Plus any additional duties and responsibilities that may reasonably be expected to be undertaken in accordance with the role.


Mandatory requirement to hold appropriate regulatory qualification at QCF Level 4 (i.e. Diploma in Financial Planning. 

Technical Knowledge

  • Extensive and up to date technical knowledge of the financial planning process through appropriate industry exams including products, funds, pensions, markets, appropriate financial instruments, the required regulatory standards and their relevance to private clients
  • Delivery of a financial promotion approval process that satisfies the appropriate regulatory requirements
  • Anticipate the impact of key developments within the wealth management marketplace to manage overall commercial risk, identify selling opportunities and create value added strategies 
  • IT literate - Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) and relevant internal systems/databases
  • Ensure that individually and as a firm we "Treat Customers Fairly"
  • Awareness of the regulatory requirements in respect of 'advised' and 'non-advised' sales, and in particular evidencing the standards and knowledge required in respect of giving advice and making recommendations to customers

  • Experienced Leader with a proven track record of successfully managing larger teams to deliver both revenue and growth targets within a wealth management environment
  • Ability to train, coach and develop team members in meeting client and self-development expectations
  • Commercial awareness and promoting the firm’s wider services and offerings

  • Strong verbal and written communication/presentation skills both internally and externally

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all areas of work, including ability to produce high standards of documentation
