The Role:

The team sits in Financial Reporting (Pru UK) and is responsible for all aspects of the capital modelling of the company's UK business.

The role will include the opportunity to:
  • Develop a deep understanding of the management of the shareholder and policyholder balance sheets
  • Develop a deep knowledge of the business through the financial reporting, ongoing solvency monitoring, and stress and scenario testing
  • Be responsible for developing and enhancing the company's suite of lite models in response to internal and external drivers
  • Be responsible for the calibration and production of the capital models used for quarterly reporting
  • Gain exposure to the modelling of the company's assets
  • Develop an understanding of how the commercial and regulatory environment impacts the company's solvency position
  • Work with colleagues across with other areas within Finance and in UK Risk to support delivery of major projects and to implement change
  • Deliver and develop the analysis and reporting of valuation results; working closely with the Shareholder and Policyholder valuation teams to ensure results are well-explained and accurately communicated to senior stakeholders
Relevant skills and experience:
  • Excellent technical actuarial knowledge, with attention to detail
  • Motivated and willing to take responsibility and ownership of the work assigned
  • Excellent analytical and problem - solving skills
  • Commercial aptitude and the ability to consider the impact of decisions
  • Strong commercial and collaboration skills
  • Ability to express own viewpoint and to communicate clearly on complex actuarial issues
Knowledge of the business or reporting experience would be an advantage, however on-the-job training will be provided to successful candidates
