The Tax Assistant will support the Central Function Tax Business Partner to deliver VAT, product tax and corporation tax services/compliance in a timely and efficient manner.

The Tax Assistant will also provide ad-hoc support to the wider tax business partner community.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities and Scope of role:

  • Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual product related tax claims, including statistical returns and dealing with all queries raised by key stakeholders
  • Preparation of control reconciliations in respect of all product related tax balances
  • Preparation of the quarterly CGT calculations
  • Support the Central Function Tax Business Partner with the preparation of the UK and Irish group VAT returns
  • Support the Central Function Tax Business Partner with the preparation of UK Corporation Tax returns
  • Support the Central Function Tax Business Partner with ensuring all internal and external audit requirements are met
  • Assist and support the wider corporate business partner community with ad-hoc tasks
  • Maintain and update tax team procedures

About You

Essential Experience & Qualifications:

  • Minimum grade 4 GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths
  • Studying towards AAT (desirable)
  • Strong communication, numeracy and literacy skills
  • IT literate, in particular strong excel skills
  • Ability to pick up new systems
