Meraki Talent has been engaged to recruit an exciting opportunity to join a global banking institution in Sheffield as a Business Analyst. The successful appointee will be responsible for the development and maintenance of models and methodologies for Financial Crime Risk Analytics.
  
Role Responsibilities:
  • Work with project leaders in the review of existing suite of models and methodologies
  • Support improvements to the systems and data infrastructure supporting deployment of the traded risk models
  • Participate in projects aimed at aligning methodologies, governance and policies
  • Ensure compliance coverage of Transaction Monitoring models
  • Provide bespoke analysis to ensure that the business can make appropriate risk/capital assessments
  • Assure the global standards for relevant models and analytics adhere to the firm’s model governance and regulatory demand
  • Provision of analytics to identify new risks and risk trends
  • Work closely with Analytics teams across different geographies to contribute to the firm’s Analytics strategy
  
Required Experience: 
  • Experience as a Business Analyst within financial services, preferably in an AML Compliance environment
  • Track record of working with stakeholders and business sponsors
  • Proven ability to clearly articulate business and regulatory implications of analysis and findings to decision makers across the business
  • Hands-on experience in using data manipulation/mining languages such as SQL
  • Experience in Scrum framework for Agile methodology would be desirable
  • Experience with ‘Big Data’ technologies such as Hadoop and Apache Spark would be beneficial but not a prerequisite
  • Ability to analyse large amounts of data efficiently and draw conclusions on what the data means
  • Strong analytical capability, drawing conclusions and anticipating outcomes from data trends or system documentation
