The Procurement & Supplier Management function sits within the CTO M&G Prudential area of the UK business. The function selects and manages third party suppliers and intra-group suppliers for Prudential UK & Europe. The aim of the function is to protect the business against commercial, operational and regulatory risk whilst delivering value for money for budget holders. The function will develop, agree and communicate the procurement strategy and through the services of a partner, provide procurement services to the organisation including but not limited to contract database, supplier risk management, and a purchase order system. The Supplier Risk Management team owns the Outsourcing Policy, Framework, Handbook, and associated tools and templates to support Business Supplier Managers' to manage their supplier(s).

Responsibilities:
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and take personal accountability to maintain and enhance controls you are responsible for to support improvement of the overall control environment, customers outcomes and a reduction in M&G Prudential's operational risk.
  • Set direction, develop and maintain the M&G Prudential Third Party Supply policy, framework, handbook and associated tools and templates
  • Set direction, own, maintain and develop the Service Criticality Assessment tool to ensure it is fit for purpose and meets current M&G Prudential requirements
  • Set direction, own, maintain and develop the Supplier Risk Assessment tool to ensure it is fit for purpose and meets current M&G Prudential requirements
  • Build and maintain close working relationships with M&G Policy owners to establish and incorporate their policy requirements into BAU tools and templates; communicating these requirement to the SRM team, Business Supplier Managers and Owners
  • Ensure Oversight plans for agreed Outsource Service Providers are established annually and meet the requirement of the Outsourcing Policy and Framework
  • Have an industry wide view of best practice to manage third party supplier risk
  • Manage the Supplier Policy and SRM Development analyst
Knowledge Required (Essential):
  • Expert knowledge of supplier risk management and associated tools and techniques
  • Expert experience of working in a supplier risk management environment in the Financial Services Industry
  • Membership of supplier risk management associations, forums, discussion groups etc. ensuring continuous learning and development
Experience Required:
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in supplier risk management environment in a Financial Services industry organisation (essential)
  • Experienced 'hands-on' supplier management experience (desirable)
  • Experienced in project managing a major change management programme involving extensive Project Manager and senior stakeholder experiences. (desirable)

Personal Attribute/Skills:
  • Excellent verbal / writing communications (essential)
  • Ability to present and debate papers and recommendations with Executives and senior management (essential)
  • Ability to understand supplier risk issues and develop ideas and solutions to address (essential)
  • Collaborative and inclusive (desirable)
Qualifications:
  • Educated to Degree level
