Supplier Manager - Alternative Income Solutions - Norwich

The Role

This is an exciting role for a Supplier Manager reporting to the Head of Business Management in Alternative Income Solutions (AIS) in Aviva Investors. A Norwich based role, there may be some travel to London/Paris although most cross site working is with the use of Skype.

We are looking for a self starter who spots opportunities and can demonstrate the drive and tenacity to make things happen. Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate strong governance skills with the ability to influence and become the subject matter expert in all things relating to supplier management as part of the business.

The Team

The AIS platform, part of Global Investment Solutions, enables investors to gain multi and single asset exposure across a range of illiquids; Real Estate Finance, Infrastructure Debt and Equity, Structured Finance and Private Corporate Debt. Investing predominantly for our main Funder UKI, the business also actively invests for external Funds in sterling and Euro denominations.

In support of these asset classes this role holder will be part of the Business Management team; an operational team covering Finance, Analysis and Reporting, Banking and Business Support. AIS is in a significant growth phase and there is a substantial change agenda in place; the team are leading an Aviva Investors pilot in Systems Thinking. The role holder will play an important part in delivering on a variety of supplier management, governance and operational activities.

Responsibilities

  • Implementing the AIS Supplier Route to Green plan including design and implement an effective supplier management process for the oversight of locally managed suppliers within AIS
  • The on-going good management, oversight and governance of AIS suppliers, including quarterly, bi annual and annual reviews as required by the ARIBA task management system as well as oversight of smaller suppliers managed outside of the ARIBA system
  • Working collaboratively with teams across AIS and Aviva Investors to ensure suppliers are managed in line with the Outsourcing and Procurement Standard
  • Oversight of supplier payments and ensuring that retrospective invoices remain within accepted tolerance
  • Providing guidance to AIS teams regarding procurement activities and on boarding new suppliers
  • Acting as the AIS interface with the Aviva Investors Supplier Governance team and Aviva Procurement teams
  • Management and negotiation of renewals of supplier contracts and feeding AIS requirements into contracts managed by other areas
  • Managing the training requirements of AIS teams in relation to iProcurement and/or supplier management
  • Adhoc projects in relation to supplier management and governance as required

Requirements

Essential

  • Relevant risk management, operational or supplier management background
  • Excellent communicator with demonstrable stakeholder management experience
  • Strong agility. A quick learner, able to multi task
  • Excellent organisational skills, with previous experience implementing a process or system
  • Able to work on own initiative but also as part of a team

Highly Desirable

  • Degree / equivalent professional qualification
  • Some project background may be an advantage, but not essential
