Ab Initio ETL Developer
As a Barclays Ab Initio ETL Developer, you will be a part of Consumer RFT Technology who is accountable and responsible for the effective management and ongoing development of a number of key applications, systems and platforms within Risk, Finance & Treasury. You will act as the conduit between the key Risk measurement and reporting business functions and the Group Risk Technology teams based in the UK and India.

What will you be doing?
• Using your expert Ab Initio ETL knowledge to become subject matter expert in the Group Capital Reporting application
• Translating business requirements to a set of technical designs that can be transacted upon
• Leading and performing end-to-end build and delivery of the systems including functional and technical validations
• Managing/escalating risks and issues to resolution
• Implementing solutions to prevent repetition of known/new issues/risks and share knowledge of lessons learned

What we're looking for:
• Experience in application design, development and implementation of data warehouse solutions using Ab initio
• Fine tuning and optimising existing workflow/new workflows to reduce overall application execution time
• Complex hands-on work on GDE and key components like Rollup, Scan, Join, Normalized, Lookup, MFS etc.
• Writing technical design documents adhering to predefined standards

Skills that will help you in the role:
• Awareness or hands on experience working on Cloud technologies
• Understanding of Big Data Technologies Cloudera, Hadoop
• Exposure to Agile
• Banking / Risk knowledge preferred

Northampton was the birthplace of Barclaycard in 1966 and we've been based in Pavilion Drive since the building opened in 1997. This state-of-the art energy efficient building holds up to 2,500 staff. The office location is perfect for travel from the midlands and London alike as we are based just off the A45, it is easily accessible by both car and bus routes.
