Within the Santander UK Risk Division, the Provisions, Forecasting & Stress Testing team is responsible for estimating credit loss reserves and for forecasting future credit losses over a range of different scenarios and time horizons.

As a Senior Risk Manager - Credit Risk Stress Testing your main responsibilities will be

• Responsible for estimating credit losses and credit risk capital requirements for internal and regulatory stress testing exercises.
• Leading a team of analysts and responsible for planning for the successful delivery of each stress test exercise, engaging with senior stakeholders about the results including where necessary the need for judgmental overlays to models.
• Expected to develop a good understanding of the regulatory requirements of stress testing and stress testing methodologies.
• Sets the overall strategic direction and objectives for team to follow and Initiates projects / oversees delivery.
• Engage in cross functional working groups to ensure stress testing exercises are successful, ensuring that we plan effectively, we identify key intra and cross team dependencies, we deliver against our deadlines and escalate issues promptly when they arise.
• Operate and develop processes and controls to ensure the credit stress testing process is robust, well documented and meets regulatory expectations.
• Manage the relationship with the group stress testing team to ensure we deliver on their expectations.

Minimum skills and experience required

• Track record of successful delivery in a statistical analysis role of similar complexity and level, preferably within a credit risk function.
• Expert level SAS programming skills.
• Broad and deep knowledge of retail banking credit risk.
• Experience of successfully managing and delivering through a team of analysts.
• An understanding of retail bank IFRS9 loss reserve methodologies and relevant accounting standards would be advantageous.
