To champion, coach and mentor teams through the adoption and continual improvement of enterprise scale agile practices.
A new software development capability has been created to support Deloitte's digital agenda. In line with this, delivery methods are evolving from legacy, plan driven approaches to those utilizing lean principles. You will be key to successfully executing the next stage of this transition, working with various technology and business teams to evolve the proposition.

Your role
As a scrum master and agile coach, you will be pivotal in moving the software delivery capability onto the next level of maturity. Working with cross functional personnel, you will use your experience to help teams evolve their practices and tailor methodologies to the specific demand and technical topology of products, maximizing business value. You will provide best practice guidance, specifically where we move to scale with enterprise frameworks such as SAFe.

Responsibilities include:
  • Hands on delivery support e.g. clearing blockers, running ceremonies, tracking progress, continual improvement, limiting WIP, prioritization, estimation, reporting, etc.
  • Ensure the teams are making the most practical use of methodologies and are empowered to use their expertise to make appropriate decisions around the technologies they support and deliver.
  • Identify and help implement services that will assist in the timely delivery of quality products.
  • Provide guidance to the wider organization on the implications and support frameworks required for lean delivery.
  • Structure the application lifecycle management tools (Azure Dev Ops) to drive and monitor delivery activities.
  • Mentor teams so that they become self-sustaining and self-managing.
  • In conjunction with the larger organization provide a center of excellence for lean practices at the local and enterprise level.
  • Communicate with openness, honesty and respect in all situations and be adept at conflict resolution and direction setting.
  • Working closely with the product owners to ensure the backlog is sufficiently groomed for the next iteration.
  • Help ensure functional and nonfunctional requirements are given appropriate attention and be able to articulate the value of these different types of effectively.

Location:
Milton Keynes with occasional domestic travel to sites within the UK.

Your professional experience
  • Expert in lean development practices (Including Scrum, ScrumBan, and SAFe), gained in software development capabilities of various sizes, from enterprise to single team.
  • You will have led or been involved in agile transitions and / or scaling agile across the enterprise.
  • Have gained real world experience of the challenges of lean adoption and be able to recognize the shortcomings as well as advantaged of these approaches.
  • Have a value driven approach to delivery and a focus on practical approaches to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Experience of a variety of delivery methodologies and be able to apply these appropriately considering dimensions such as: scale, technical architecture skillsets, etc.
  • Will have worked extensively with geographically distributed teams on and off shore.
  • Experienced in set based design approaches and Lean Start-up type techniques.
