A multi-strategy Hedge Fund, outperforming the market within their space, are looking to make a key newly created hire.

The current Trader Assistant is moving internally in to a Trading role and so we are back filling his position. The Operations/Back Office remit is outsourced, so the hire will work in a role with a core TA remit. In the simplest sense this includes trade capture, trade booking, following up on P&L issues/queries etc. However the bulk of the role will be to provide direct, constant (and somewhat ad-hoc) support to the Portfolio Management team you sit with. The hire will also hold some revenue generation responsibilities. You will have ownership over securities lending/repo responsibilities and thus should look to create positive P&L daily with regards to these responsibilities forming the firm’s treasury function/currency hedging etc. You will oversee the Operations/Back Office work that is done externally by the third party provider, being the main point of contact - managing any issues, discrepancies etc. Ideally the hire will work towards a managerial position as the fund continue to build out, however we are open to the new hire also having future front office ambitions.

You should have a solid academic profile. We are open to considering candidates with 1-3yrs experience, working in a support role for an IB or Asset Manager ideally. Any strong derivatives product knowledge/experience is preferred. Personality fit is key - this is a boisterous office, where the team are friends & sociable outside of work + you are working in a forward facing role - the hire should fit the culture well.

The role will cap out around the 50/55k base salary mark. You are replacing a high performing individual that has been earning a 100% bonus at the firm, so the new hire could also achieve a large bonus payment if he/she performs to the same high standards.
