A Trade Surveillance Senior Manager vacancy has arisen with a global banking client of mine based in London. This role will be a key part of the compliance oversight programme run by the bank and therefore they are seeking an experienced compliance professional with experience in trade surveillance and compliance monitoring.

My client is a global banking firm seeking a Senior Manager level candidate to cover a critical senior role within the bank's developing compliance structure.

Description

Trade Surveillance is responsible for the design and implementation of a range of trade surveillance models and a supporting trade surveillance framework. The Trade Surveillance Senior Manager will:

  • Support the development of the trade surveillance framework.
  • Assist in the implementation of new policies and procedures.
  • Appropriately make enhancements to the firm's surveillance systems, reports and processes when required.
  • Ensure ongoing development of surveillance reports is consistent with regulatory landscape.
  • Stay abreast of developments in the regulatory rules and good practice and ensure the trade surveillance framework remains fit for purpose.
  • Execute the surveillance processes and ensure deliverables are conducted on time.
  • Assist with maintaining and updating the trade surveillance programme.
  • Completing aspects of the Compliance Risk Assessment , Market Abuse Risk Assessment and other Departmental Risk Assessments or gap analysis as appropriate.
  • Assist and / or co-ordinate surveillance related projects.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of management information.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of suspicious trading activity reports to competent local authorities, as appropriate.
  • Escalate any issues arising from trade surveillance and manage these.
  • Draft internal and external investigation summaries and Suspicious Transaction Order Reports (STORs);
  • Identify enhancements to existing controls, test the integrity of system controls and surveillance reports by participating in testing programs and validating test results.
  • Monitor appropriate information and insider trading prevention procedures.

Profile

The successful Trade Surveillance Senior Manager will have:

  • Experience of operating in a trade surveillance team at a senior management level.
  • Compliance background (within a securities house, broker dealer/wholesale banking environment);
  • Exposure to working with a global team.
  • Regulatory awareness, especially MiFID II and MAR.
  • Good knowledge and experience of capital markets and relevant products (Derivatives, Rates, Equities, Cash Bonds, FX)
  • Good awareness of financial conduct areas.
