We are currently working with a leading quantitative trading firm who are looking to expand their team in London. Their performance has been exceptional in 2020/21 and as such they are looking for a bright, analytical character to join their Trading Operations team. This role presents an amazing opportunity to join a successful firm who encourage growth internally.

You will be joining the operations desk, working closely with the front office team on all trading support functions and being the point of contact for brokers and external counterparties on trade related issues. There would be exposure to a wide range of asset classes across Equities, Futures, Commodities, Options, Bonds and Currencies.

Due to the complex nature of what they invest in, our client is looking for someone who studied a numeric degree (Maths, Physics, Engineering, Economics) at a top University as well as Maths at A Level (or equivalent!). A good attitude and motivation are the two other defining requirements for this role - someone who is self-driven, ever self-improving, and in general someone who is down to earth and can fit well into quite a collaborative culture.

The company is renowned for hiring some of the brightest minds in the industry making this an opportunity to work alongside a truly top calibre team. They also have a reputation for being one of the best firms to work at.

Brief role synopsis:

  • This person will work closely with clearing firms, brokers and other counterparts as well as interfacing with the Operations teams to ensure post-trade processes are properly updated to handle new trade flows.
  • This role will also assume responsibility for daily P&L preparation.

The person:

  • Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. Maths, Physics, Engineering or Economics)
  • Ideally a background in Operations and/or Middle Office gained from working in an Investment Bank, Trading firm or Hedge Fund. If someone has exceptional academics, there may be flexibility on previous work experience!
  • You should be a self-motivated critical thinker who can multitask and enjoys a fast-paced, highly intellectual environment.
  • The ability to take on and manage your own projects is key
