The person will support the global Equity Research department with technology based applications that are used in research publishing and analysis. They will be responsible for application development to enhance existing systems primarily focused on VBA, Excel and Sharepoint as well as web-based editing tools.

Team

Our research analysts use a variety of methodologies and sources including surveys, industry contacts and public documents, as well as benefiting from perspectives from collaborations with fellow Jefferies analysts following other industries, geographies and asset classes. 

Role

The person will support the global Equity Research department with technology based applications that are used in research publishing and analysis. They will be responsible for application development to enhance existing systems primarily focused on VBA, Excel and Sharepoint as well as web-based editing tools.

Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities are:

  • BlueMatrix research publishing system level 1 support
  • Sharepoint 2013 development
  • Create and maintain documentation for all tools and automations
  • Develop automations using VBA, Advanced Excel
  • Building and supporting Excel Macros
  • Maintain and support existing tools and automations
  • Point of contact between vendors and the Equity Research teams

Person Specification

The following skills and experience are required for this role:

  • BSc degree or equivalent
  • Experience of Investment Banking is advantageous
  • Excellent communications skills and the ability to interact with a diverse client base
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Ability to work in teams and/or independently
  • Advanced Excel and VBA programming skills is required
  • Sharepoint 2013 experience and development skills
  • Experience of web-based editing tools (ideally Bluematrix Creator 3.0) is required
  • Experience of Factset and Bloomberg
  • Experience of training on technical products would be advantageous.
