Technical Support Engineer

We are looking for a Technical Customer Support Engineer with Web and mobile application development experience (Java, HTML5, Android etc.)

Competitive hourly rate (plus 33 days holiday, pension, gym, work laptop) Approx. from £40,000pa equivalent

12 Month Contract - potential for extension

The Role

As a GPS Maps Platform Customer Engineer, you'll assist fellow team mates by problem-solving key technical issues for our customers. The aim is to show them how our products can make businesses more productive, collaborative and innovative.

You are a facilitator with technical, communication and organizational skills. Using previous experience in location and web mapping products, mobile applications, and/or cloud-based infrastructure and services you engage with customers to understand their business and technical requirements. Your relationships with customers are crucial in helping us grow our GPS Maps Platform business and bringing our product portfolio into companies both big and small around the world.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the team to identify and qualify business opportunities and identify key customer technical objections. Develop the strategy to resolve technical impediments.
  • Take responsibility for technical aspects of solutions to include such activities as product and solution briefings.
  • Prepare and deliver product messaging in an effort to highlight GPS Maps Platform value proposition.
  • Work hands-on with our GPS Maps Platform to demonstrate and prototype integrations in customer/partner environments.
  • Provide training and resources to the wider team to improve overall knowledge.



Minimum Qualifications:
  • BS degree in Computer Science or related engineering degree. In lieu of degree, relevant work experience.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a technical customer facing role (including working as a member of a professional services or sales engineering team).
  • Web and mobile application development experience (i.e. Java, JavaScript, HTML5, Android, etc).



Preferred Qualifications:
  • Mapping application development and integration using GPS Maps Platform or similar technology on web or mobile platforms (Android / iOS).
  • Understanding of solution architecture within web and mobile environments.
