My client, a leading Investment Manager, are seeking an experienced Tax Compliance Manager to manage the statutory entity tax compliance and reporting across the group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing the tax compliance and reporting 
  • Preparation of tax computations and returns using OneSource
  • Review of tax computations and returns prepared by junior members of the tax team
  • Managing advisors in respect of certain tax computations and returns which are outsourced
  • Preparation of tax accounting numbers and tax disclosures for statutory accounts purposes
  • Review of tax accounting numbers and tax disclosures prepared by junior members of the tax team 
  • Involvement in QIP process
  • Provide guidance and technical support to junior members of the team
  • Research ad hoc technical tax issues and drafting of technical notes to support tax positions taken
  • Liaising with Finance to ensure all relevant information is obtained in a suitable format to allow accurate calculation of the tax numbers and of the tax returns
  • Preparation of responses to queries raised by HMRC in respect of our direct tax liabilities, if applicable
  • Other ad hoc tax support, as required  

Requirements & Experience:

  • Experience of Corporate Tax Compliance and Tax provisioning
  • Experience of using OneSource
  • Experience of structures that involve partnership allocations in to corporate tax returns preferred, but not essential
  • Strong Excel analytical skills. Able to understand, question and challenge a range of financial data
  • Able to identify areas of risk within tax computations
  • Self-motivated with a diligent and detailed approach to completing tasks
  • Confidence to communicate effectively with a range of internal and external parties
  • Flexible and proactive approach
  • This will be a visible role so requires someone with an approachable personality, strong focus and first-class communication skills, both written and oral
  • The role would suit someone with an accounting or tax qualification with 2 or 3 years post qualified experience, preferably within Corporate Tax Compliance.
