Nuveen Asset Management’s Real Asset investment philosophy incorporates an active management style based on the belief the market often provides pricing dislocations. This effort requires quality research, collaboration among team members, and the depth of experience necessary to navigate investment strategies in the Real Asset sectors. The Real Asset team employs a structured approach using quantitative processes with a qualitative overlay to identify market inefficiencies while determining proper placement on the risk/reward spectrum.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  The following duties are generally representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive.
• Serve as a member of the Global Real Estate Securities team
• Analyst will work in a team structure to cover the European listed real-estate space for the benefit of global listed real-estate and real asset income strategies
• Develop and maintain economic and earnings models and other spreadsheets involved in the investment decision process
• Develop and maintain coverage on assigned real estate sectors
• Formulate investment recommendations based on analysis of work and communicate these opinions to other members of the team
• Take initiative to identify areas where additional support to the analyst/portfolio managers is needed
• Prepare for and actively participate in meetings with executive management teams and industry contacts
• Listen to earnings and industry related conference calls and share relevant findings with Portfolio Manager and team
• Perform due diligence and research by attending industry conferences and company visits, which will require travel (10-20%)

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of relevant investment experience is required
• Master’s degree and/or CFA preferred
• Proficiency in Discounted Cash Flow (DCF), Net Asset Value (NAV), and Sum-of-the-Parts (SOTP) valuation methodologies is required
• Strong financial modeling skills
• Expertise in Excel, FactSet and Bloomberg is required
• Investment or industry experience in assigned real estate sector(s) is required
• Knowledge and experience with macro-economic and regulatory dynamics in assigned sector(s) is required
• Strong analytical skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Team-oriented and ability to work across the organization
