Caspian One are working with a Buy-side Fund, a Multi-National Market Leader operating a large and diverse technology platform. My client is seeking an innovative minded Site Reliability Engineer to join their passionate team based in the heart of London.

The successful candidate will be joining a cohesive team of engineers, developers, and trade support people to help build world class systems and necessary tools to maintain and improve the performance. As Site Reliability Engineer you will be primarily developing these processes, tools, and automation for managing distributed systems in agile environments. 

 

This is an exciting time to join as they are start a greenfield project involving designing and deploying a new generation of production infrastructure. They are keen to meet experienced SRE’s that have a deep understanding of how applications function and can change applications for production quality. 

 

The ideal person for this role will have a strong entrepreneurial spirit, inspire to be a creative operational leader with programming experience. You will be expected to strive for continuous improvement by contributing ideas and assessing new innovations.

 

Would you describe yourself as being well versed in application and network protocols? Are you good at automation? Do you know a variety of scripting languages you can bring to the table? If yes, then please get in touch!

 

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Strong background in computer science fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, distributed systems
  • Fully proficient in at least one modern structured programming language
  • Comfortable with a range of current software development tools and practices (testing, source control, build systems, etc.)
  • A basic working understanding of TCP/IP networking, LAN and WAN as well as Linux networking
  • Some experience with building and managing highly reliable large-scale systems a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A passion for learning, adapting to changing requirements and technology and inventing new approaches to hard problems

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science or an allied field.
