The Team: Do you want to be part of a team researching and influencing the way organizations adopt AI, analytics & data management? 451 Research's Data, AI & Analytics team of expert technology industry analysts provides clients with research and analysis that articulates the rapidly evolving trends shaping this critical sector. Organizations need to use data to drive their decision-making and we provide the insights into the technology, products, trends and regulations that enables them to do that.
The Impact: You will help deliver insights for our clients on topics such as databases, data management, data science and analytics, data governance, artificial intelligence and machine learning. Team members conduct, write, and present research about the innovative technology vendors and service providers in this sector, as well as industry trends and potential future developments. Your analysis and data-driven opinions help define and shape the markets you cover, as well as the strategies of clients - including both technology vendors, and the enterprises that rely on data and analytics initiatives to drive commercial success.

Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only):
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $91.5k - $190.1k . Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location.
In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct focused research on the data platforms, data management and database sectors, working independently within a geographically dispersed, global team.
  • Engage in briefings with key vendors and attend physical and virtual events focused on these sectors.
  • Write research reports explaining vendor strategies, as well as overall industry trends.
  • Contribute to the development of end user surveys. Analyze and deliver research reports based on the results.
  • Deliver presentations, webinars and strategy sessions to present your research and explain industry trends.
  • Respond to inquiry requests from data platforms, data management and database vendors, enterprise users, and investors.
  • Lead and contribute to custom advisory research projects for clients
  • Collaborate with fellow analysts to shape the overall Data, AI & Analytics research agenda.
What We're Looking For:
Basic Qualifications:
  • A good mix of written and interpersonal skills, with the ability to describe complex ideas in a straightforward way.
  • The ability to write detailed, structured reports clearly and succinctly.
  • The ability to present with confidence to senior IT professionals, vendors or investors.
  • Industry knowledge of the data platforms, data management and databases sector (not necessarily all of it, but some of it).
Preferred Qualifications:
A minimum of 3-7 years' experience in one or more of the following roles:
  • Analyst within a technology industry analyst firm covering any or all of the sectors in our team but preferably data platforms, data management or databases.
  • Product management or product marketing at a technology vendor, preferably in a related sector, e.g., databases, data management, data platforms or analytics.
  • Market intelligence or competitive intelligence role with a technology vendor in the same sectors.
  • Journalism experience writing about these sectors for an enterprise technology audience.
