This exciting role is based within the Business Relationship Management ("BRM") group in London, which leads the business development and marketing efforts for Fitch Rating's Financial Institutions Group ("FIG") rating franchise.
Reporting to a Senior Director in the EMEA FIG BRM team in London, this motivated and detail orientated individual will support marketing outreach activities undertaken by the FIG BRM team, primarily working with London-based team members but also with colleagues based in other locations in EMEA and globally.
This role will suit someone who is seeking to expand their network of capital markets professionals and who is keen to develop a career in a front line relationship management role. Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the relationship development and marketing efforts of senior team members, as well as building their own market relationships. The principal objective of the team is to manage and optimise existing relationships with FIG issuers and other market participants and to originate new FIG rating mandates through targeted marketing and client engagement.
Key responsibilities of the role include: Lead responsibility for a portfolio of insurance companies
Responsibility for maintaining relationships with a number of UK & Dutch insurers. Relationship Management
Support the Senior Director in managing relationships with existing clients. Research and develop new business opportunities
Research and identify new business opportunities in the insurance sector. Develop and execute marketing plans to pursue opportunities of generating new rating mandates with Fitch Analytical teams. Research and preparation of business development materials
Prepare pitch books, case studies, and tombstones. Develop new persuasive business development materials to support marketing efforts. Marketing meetings
Help with organising client and other external marketing meetings for BRM Relationship Managers and prepare appropriate background information as required. Attend external meetings with senior team members and assist proactively in following up on action points. Take an active role in participating in meetings and interacting with external clients, building relationships with all debt capital market participants. Events
Represent Fitch at internal and external industry events/conferences, with some organisational responsibilities. Network with market participants - gather market intelligence and promote the Fitch rating proposition. Reporting
Attend internal meetings, and prepare reports on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis for both internal and external distribution. Utilise Salesforce to record marketing activity, manage targeted mailing, and measure performance. Capital markets data analysis
Utilise data relating to the Debt Capital Markets (provided by Bloomberg, Reuters, Dealogic, etc.) to monitor market activity. Manage and update databases, identify trends relevant to Fitch Ratings' business development efforts, and develop tools to support BRM's wider marketing aims. Assist with competitor intelligence and analysis. Business planning
Support BRM team members in developing and monitoring business plans and new business pipeline. Preparation of commercial agreements and renegotiations
Prepare commercial agreements for new and existing issuers. Assist BRM Relationship Managers with re-negotiations with existing issuers through preparing and sending agreements and monitoring progress. Qualifications and experience:
- Financial industry experience, ideally gained through exposure to debt capital markets, banking, corporate finance, or credit analysis
- Knowledge or experience of the insurance sector would be advantageous
- University degree, preferably in a business or finance related discipline
- Strong knowledge of preparing marketing/business development materials using Microsoft Word and PowerPoint showing excellent attention to detail
- Demonstrable knowledge of research, analysis and interpretation of large data sets. Strong/Advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with CRM (Client Relationship Management) systems (ie Salesforce) - and report generation and Excel downloads
- Knowledge or aptitude to work with market data systems such as Bloomberg, ThomsonReuters, Dealogic
- Strong English language communication and presentation skills, verbal & written. Other language skills viewed as a plus.
- Ability to work independently within a strategic framework, with supervision and guidance from senior team members, and demonstrating the flexibility to meet tight deadlines
- Team oriented, with the ability to confidently establish relationships internally and externally within an international business environment
- Self-starter with strong delivery ethos, detail orientated and first class organisational skills
