Solution Development (SD) is one of the core Service Areas in Technology, providing clients with the advice and delivery skills that they need in their complex technology programmes. Our services include Programme Management, Solutions Development & Integration (SD&I) and Testing.
We help clients in designing and implementing fully integrated solutions across the organisation's own walls, and with its external partners, suppliers, and customers. Our end-to-end solutions encompass technology, people and data; span across front, middle and back offices; and are focused on quality, governance and control. We cover all aspects of systems development and integration including digital solutions, package integration, custom development and infrastructure.
We are looking to grow this team and offer opportunities for exciting and innovative work with Clients across multiple sectors and with leading technologies, skills acquisition, professional knowledge growth, and overseas travel.

Your role
You will work as part of our broader Systems Development and Integration (SD&I) and Public Sector teams, to deliver complex and large-scale technology programmes within the Transport Sector, including across the following domains:
•Surface transport
•Transportation networks

The role spans the lifecycle of Go-To-Market, sales and post sales activities. Specific responsibilities include:
•Leading the development of large scale and complex solutions within the agreed timescales, budget and quality
•Leading teams of varying sizes and diverse technical skills to develop solutions
•Leading multi-disciplinary teams across development models spanning onshore, offshore and near-shore
•Managing the full project lifecycle - from scoping, structuring, planning, execution, monitoring, controlling through to go-live / support
•Identifying project responsibilities, assigning resources and tasks, managing risks and issues, managing quality assurance, status reviews and reporting, development of standards, benefits tracking, change control
•Working with stakeholders at various levels across the Client, Deloitte and third parties, and geographical locations, as required

Your professional experience
We are looking for individuals who understand the connection between the business problem and the technology solution and have the professional and personal skills to make a real difference to our Clients.


We expect you to have experience and skills in the following:

•A minimum of 10 years within major Solution Development organisations or Big 4 firms, delivering systems development services to Transport Sector clients
•Knowledge of (and ideally experience) in:
oHybrid Agile

•Knowledge of transport systems, including but not limited to the following areas will be beneficial:
oSurface transport
oTransportation networks
•Knowledge of key transport systems across:
oPlanning (e.g. time tabling, operations planning, asset planning)
oOperations (e.g. traffic management, pay settlements, passenger management, asset management, capital project implementations)
•Experience of implementing or migrating solutions to cloud platforms
•Experience in Big Data / Analytics platforms within the Transport Sector

Additionally, we expect that you possess the following core consulting skills:
•Experience of working and leading teams in fast-paced and demanding delivery-focused environments, and across delivery models spanning onshore, offshore and near-shore
•Strong communication and people skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas to different audiences within an organisation, and effectively engage with stakeholders ranging from subject matter experts to senior functional leads
•Strong documentation ability and excellent written and verbal communication skills
•Experience in developing Go To Market campaigns, proposal writing in response to bids, documentation of major deliverables across delivery phases of projects/programmes
•Experience of commercial and delivery risk management - Understanding and awareness of the commercial and reputational risks Deloitte may encounter and implementation of the appropriate mitigations
•A strong focus on team working within diverse and remotely located teams
•A "can do" attitude - Hands-on & flexible approach to emerging requirements and a real willingness to learn and participate
•Enthusiasm and passion for the delivery of market leading solutions that make a difference
•Professional working proficiency in the English language
•An ability to travel internationally and stay away from home for up to 5 days each week for specific durations of time based on defined programme needs or phases

All candidates must have full travel mobility and the right to live and work in the UK. A good graduate STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) degree is preferred.
