About our client Our client, a growing renewable energy investment fund is currently looking to hire a Senior Legal Counsel to join their high performing London team. The fund has gone through significant growth over the past couple of years and have the vision to be a leader within the sustainable energy transition industry. Specialising in scalable energy assets, the team has a strong ethical focus on producing clean energy whilst maximising returns for their investors.
What the job involves The Senior Legal Counsel position has arisen within the fund due to an increase in workload across a broad range of legal areas, including management of existing assets in construction, negotiation of new EPC and other works and services contracts along with general M&A and corporate activity. As this is a brand-new role within the fund, there will be plenty of autonomy to grow and shape the position as you see fit. You will be partnering with the leadership of firm, reporting into the General Counsel and lead on liaising with multiple external providers.
- Providing advice and leading on any construction dispute resolution processes
- Negotiating and providing effective advice on a wide range of construction and operational matters, including EPC
- Participating in and providing legal advice on acquisition development and general project finance
- Instructing external counsel where appropriate
- Supporting the development of in-house legal expertise
- Advising on new law / regulation and policy changes
- Supporting on transaction activity when necessary
Who we are looking for - Qualified Lawyer with expertise within significant experience within the renewable energy space.
- Experience gained within private practice and more recently in-house would be advantageous
- Additional M&A or project finance experience would be a bonus
- Experience in construction contract disputes, settlements and claims
- EPC contract experience is essential
- Experience working across multiple global jurisdictions
