The Opportunity   

As our London finance function continues to evolve, we have an opportunity for a Senior Finance Business Analyst to join us and be a valued member of our team, where we will support you to grow and shape your career at QBE.  

Your new role  

As a Senior Finance Business Analyst you will support the Finance Business Partners and the business in driving sound business performance through strong financial planning and consistent production of credible, well researched, right first time analytics in order to ensure senior management receive quality analytics.  

Your primary responsibilities will include:   

  • Provision of ad-hoc analytics and exhibits in responsive fashion (working in conjunction with Reporting CoE) to support business partners and business leaders
  • Opportunity analysis to support improved business decision support
  • Competitor / Market analysis to further business decision support
  • Analyse the financial impact of business change programs
  • Work in conjunction with the wider Financial Control and Finance Operations teams (EO & Group) to continually update and improve all management reporting including design of new reporting, adaptation of existing reporting and establishing best practice
  • Support business partnering team during budgeting / forecasting processes, as necessary
  • Contribute to the delivery of full monthly commentary, analysis and communication of managed expenses across the respective function / division.
  • Working with wider EO Finance team, contribute to an effective, efficient and transparent allocation process for overhead expenditure to business units
  • Actively coaches and develops more junior/less experienced colleagues, that are service-providers to business partnering team, in matrix fashion.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for other team members, to ensure quality and consistency across the team and to promote the sharing of knowledge and best practice.

Your story so far  

In order to thrive in the position as a Senior Finance Business Analyst here at QBE, we would expect you to have working experience in most of the following areas:   

  • Experience of working in a management reporting / MI / FP&A role 
  • Proven ability to build successful internal business relationships 
  • Ability to simplify and communicate finance terminology to non-financial colleagues 
  • Communicates effectively at all levels within the organization 
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues in other functions to deliver require outputs 
  • Ability to generate solutions 
  • Ideally a qualified accountant ( ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or part qualified Actuary
