Scala/Java Developers - FX- Market-Leading Investment Bank

Summary

One of the world's most prestigious tier-1 banks is seeking a technically proficient and enthusiastic software engineers to join an agile, global team providing the FX business with pricing, trade capture and risk management systems.

In this role, you'll draw on your strong technical skills to help the firm's FX Options business to grow revenues, reduce costs and streamline workflow for the sales and trading users. As they renovate the sales and trading platform, you'll be building out new systems for price discovery and negotiation, intraday and end-of-day risk, and trade capture. This role offers exposure to a broad range of challenging global projects, from 24hr, highly liquid, ultra-low latency e-trading through to complex exotic transactions.

The main development language here is Scala, and while prior knowledge would be ideal, it is not required; you just need to be a talented technologist eager to learn Scala who wants to work in front office development. Java experience will also be considered. Come and be a part of one of the largest Scala projects in the world!

Requirements

• Solid commercial experience in Scala or Java
• Knowledge of / interest in functional programming
• Demonstrable experience of successfully delivering technically challenging projects
• Technically curious mindset, keen to dig beneath the surface to understand how things work, why they're like that and what the design trade-offs were
• Finance background beneficial, but not required

Desirable

• BSc or MSc in any relevant field of IT/Engineering
