We're looking for a STRAP Security Officer you will work within a small team within the DWP Cyber Resilience Centre (CRC). The team provides central governance and support to, other Security unit partners and third party suppliers to help them manage and account for STRAP and Cryptographic material to use in accordance with HMG Standards. The team also acts as Partner Security Officer within the Cyber Security Unit. In addition, the team supports the Head of CRC to develop and achieve operational.
You and your role
The role of STRAP Security Officer (STRAPSO) supports the STRAP Lead to oversee the management of STRAP requirements and delivery to the Cluster Security Unit organisation in line with Government classifications, standards and policy.
Requirements of the STRAP - Security officer role include:
To provide support to the Head of Operational Capability in order to develop and achieve operational capabilities to meet strategic goals and build CRC development.
Supports the investigation of security incidents and also supporting the management of cluster organisations to establish appropriate improvement plan and work with organisations to establish STRAP requirements to achieve their business objectives. Supporting the implementation of emergency action plans (Business Continuity) in accordance with HMG and / or organisational instructions and also supporting the control and management of STRAP and Rosa ICT systems, including rigorous and regular audits. Informing appropriate security vetting requirements in conjunction with the Department's personnel security staff. Ensuring adequate physical protection is maintained by rigorous and regular muster and audit.
What are we looking for?
Experience of managing multiple priorities and responding flexibly and effectively to competing demands, balancing priorities accordingly. Experience of building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders to support delivery of business objectives. Experience of making decisions and explaining clearly both verbally and in writing how a decision has been reached, they will also provide advice and feedback to support others to make accurate, appropriate and proportionate decisions. A knowledge of security concepts (Physical, Personal and IT Security), including security controls, security risk management and security incident management.
