SCCM Engineer – Desktop
The Personal Technology team are responsible for multiple end-user services across the enterprise, encompassing Desktop, Virtual Desktop, Mobility, Applications, and Print.
As a key member of the Personal Technology team in EMEA your primary focus will be SCCM Engineering - providing administration support for software package development, Desktop OS builds and configuration management as well as maintaining the SCCM infrastructure. You will contribute to designing, deploying, and supporting technology services such as Windows 10/11, Configuration Manager and end-user hardware devices as well as providing support for the wider end-user services.
You will be a point of escalation for Level 3 support queries and will be responsible for troubleshooting SCCM desktop related issues. You will be accountable for the technical delivery of project-based work and will be pivotal to our team successfully delivering a global device strategy.
This role requires close collaboration with various internal and external technology and business teams. You will also have a customer-obsessed attitude with excellent communication skills.
With your self-starter attitude and broad range of experience in the enterprise IT world, you will be responsible for helping to support the Windows 10 desktop experience for our businesses around the globe across a range of device options utilizing Configuration Manager Current Branch. The team is currently engaged in several projects including cloud-based productivity and collaboration tools, enhanced mobility and BYOD, virtual desktop enhancements, Windows 10, MacBook, security product upgrades, and various business-driven projects.
You will have an in-depth knowledge of System Centre Configuration Manager infrastructure, support, and system maintenance. In addition, your technical skills will include:
- Expert knowledge of deploying and supporting Windows Desktop OS
- Solid PowerShell and automation experience
- Thorough understanding of Active Directory, including replication and GPO
- Sound understanding of Microsoft Office 365 and associated technologies would be advantageous
- Documentation skills in referencing existing and developing new materials where required. Confluence and JIRA tools will be considered favourable
- Advanced knowledge of registry, permissions, and drivers and software required
- Extensive knowledge of Windows operating systems patching
- Knowledge of desktop analytic tools i.e., Lakeside SysTrack beneficial
