Our client is currently recruiting for a Credit Risk Analyst to join them in their professional risk team, assessing credit and operational risk; working with Banks and corporates.
Responsibilities
Ensuring Risk adds value using expertise to the first line of defence credit applications. Engaging and providing input in structuring of transactions as and when required.
Ensuring timely identification of adverse risks within the portfolio and early referral to the head of department when appropriate
Emerging markets country/sovereign risk analysis (structural assessment of the vulnerabilities, proactive crisis alerts,; recommendation of limits, etc)
To participate in and implement new projects to develop credit and other risk management techniques and systems
Prepare, monitor and report on the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA, feeding into the bank-wide RCSA. This includes supporting Business and other departments in the update of their RCSA. This will be through workshops and reviewing and monitoring their RCSA’s and where appropriate provide challenge to the content and assessment ratings.
Coordinating of key control RCSA testing annually.
To assist the head of department in project/duties related to Risk Management (e.g. ICAAP, ILAAP, preparation of ALCO/MRC papers; review of risk policy papers etc.)
To assist with Committee (CRECO/ALCO/MRC) preparation and minutes, risk appetite adherence/compliance etc
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of experience
Demonstration of an advanced understanding of Risk/Underwriting considerations, a keen analytical mind and sound commercial judgement
Reviewing second line of defence applications and recommending limits (sovereign, banks and corporates). Providing commentary on financial, credit and all credit risk factors)
Product knowledge in trade finance
Experience in operational risk
Knowledge of African or International emerging markets an advantage
