The key responsibilities of the role include: 

Delivers the day to day local Depositary Services functions in accordance with Depositary best practice

Ensures all Depositary obligations are successfully adhered to through establishing and monitoring applicable procedures and controls

Provides client support on a day to day and strategic (change) level, ensuring high quality and accurate service levels

Works with senior management to determine the strategy for local Depositary and support the overall effort in EMEA. Maintains and develops client relationships in order to achieve high levels of client satisfaction and to optimise Northern Trust’s commercial positioning in the local Depositary Services industry 

Key member of a client facing team

On-going liaison with the pan-European Depositary Operations function

Monitoring the regulatory environment and assessing business impact. Represent Northern Trust at relevant industry and regulatory forums

Planning and implementation of new product areas

Operates independently; has in-depth knowledge of business unit / function

As subject area expert, provides comprehensive, in-depth consulting and leadership to team and partners at a high technical level

Carries out activities that are large in scope, cross-functional and technically difficult

Role is balanced between high level operational execution and development, and execution of strategic direction of business function activities

Responsible for direct interaction with different committees and/or management

Strategic in developing, implementing and administering programs within functional areas

The successful candidate will benefit from having: 

Relevant proven work experience in a similar function in a custodian bank, securities industry or investment management firm that offers the full fund administration suite of services

Previous relevant risk management, legal and compliance experience. 

Thorough knowledge of Depositary and fund administration duties and responsibilities

Thorough knowledge of the laws and regulations applicable to the fund and depositary banking industry

Good understanding of the local and broader EMEA fund vehicles and structures

Familiar with types of portfolio investment strategies

Highly effective communication and relationship management skills

Team player with demonstrable ability to collegially work in a diverse and inclusive environment
