Our client, a leader in the international wholesale energy markets is currently looking for Regulatory Reporting Analyst to join their Contracts and Settlements team. This department provides a robust support function, enabling tight control the Company’s commercial activities and process large volumes of transactions with a wide variety of counterparts. The team ensures effective processes and controls are in place to mitigate operational risk and potential loss.

This role will take ownership of Transaction Reporting processes and ensure that timely, complete and accurate data is delivered in accordance with numerous regulations (EMIR, REMIT and MiFID).

Main responsibilities

  • Daily BAU responsibilities for EMIR and REMIT reporting.
  • Responsible for daily workflow, ensuring that all reportable trades are reported within the regulatory deadlines, so that required regulatory obligations are met.
  • Monitor trade submission error logs, performing root cause analysis, when necessary, to ensure that trades are reported within specified timeframes.
  • Liaising and interacting with Front Office, Operations, and IT teams to investigate and resolve exceptions.
  • Testing of transaction reporting data for completeness, accuracy, and identification of issues.
  • Assess and deliver transaction reporting developments, ensuring changes are in line with regulations.
  • Evaluate current reporting processes in comparison to regulatory guidelines, industry best practices and counterparty data to identify gaps and to streamline and automate current processes.
  • Ensuring all processes and procedures are constantly reviewed, documented and updated.


Experience of working in a Regulatory / transaction reporting role or exposure to the European trading regulations e.g. EMIR & REMIT (ideally in Gas, Power and Emissions markets).

A self-starter, a logical thinker, and a quick learner, with strong initiative and excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, able to communicate clearly and concisely.

Person specification

  • Degree level education or equivalent work experience.
  • Knowledge of the regulations EMIR, REMIT, and MiFID.
  • Good working knowledge of trading systems.
  • Experience of using an electronic matching platform, preferably Equias.
  • Exposure to new system implementation and development.
  • Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good grasp of Excel.
  • Experience of working in a Transaction Reporting team in an energy trading environment preferred
  • Experience of working with trading counterparties and direct contact with trading desks.
  • Motivated by daily operational processes and the opportunity to develop and refine those processes.
