The Regulatory Strategy and Business Change (RSBC) division of Credit Suisse (CS) is responsible for assessment, project management and delivery of all regulatory initiatives to ensure CS is aligned with all regulations globally. Within RSBC, there is a team of circa 110 change professionals across US, UK, Poland and India focused on change delivery for the Global Markets & Investment Banking and Capital Markets (GM & IBCM) divisions. This role will act as a Project Consultant within RSBC based in London.

The Project Consultant will be working in the Post Trade and Reporting Change Delivery program. This program's remit is to manage the delivery of technical infrastructure, business process and operating control changes to ensure the firm's GM & IBCM businesses can align with regulations that affect post trade execution activities across all applicable jurisdictions globally. Past and present regulations in scope for delivery by this program include MIFID II Trade & Transaction Reporting, MiFID II STP/ Indirect Clearing, MiFID II Asset Segregation, FinfraG Trade & Transaction Reporting, SFTR Reporting, EMIR & FinfraG Mandatory Clearing, Deposit Guarantee Scheme Directive, G20 Derivatives Trade Reporting, SEC OCC Rule Change, SEC Securities Swaps Based Regulation.

The successful candidate will join a highly valued central change delivery team for the Global Investment Bank as a Hybrid Project Consultant possessing regulatory change expertise, and business analysis and project management skills. They will gain exposure to multiple business areas of the firm, from GM & IBCM Front Office, COOs, Legal and Compliance; CRO and IT, and will be well positioned to build a complete understanding of the front-to-back operations of a global investment bank. They will work on high profile and strategically important projects to ensure the bank's ongoing compliance with regulations as they evolve and will be in a position to develop a broad network of contacts across the bank.

You Offer

Business Analysis:

  • Interpret regulatory text and perform impact assessment against investment banking business processes
  • Conduct due diligence in ratifying interpretation of regulatory text with legal and compliance as appropriate
  • Produce succinct business requirements documentation including detailed process flows that clearly and precisely articulate current and future states
  • Identify and describe investment banking business scenarios impacted by regulatory requirements
  • Work collaboratively and efficiently with IT counterparts in deciphering issues, drafting business requirements and review functional requirements
  • Produce appropriate testing documentation including UAT strategy, plan, scenarios, case, and steps
  • Document traceability of requirements from regulation through to test output to evidence end solution fulfils compliance and/or business need

Resource Management:

  • Prioritize work effectively for him/herself and other team members
  • Assign him/herself with urgency to accommodate tight deadlines provided by either his/herself, other partners or regulators
  • Ability to plan and organize workload when working to tight deadlines and maintain a clear head when faced with multiple conflicting priorities

Project Management:

  • Develop project plans with realistic timeframes and resourcing to ensure delivery to agreed time and budget
  • Organize resources and/or teams in multiple offices by effectively structuring and prioritizing work packages
  • Establish and adhere to appropriate project governance including forums to efficiently lead change delivery
  • Track project milestones to agreed timelines, monitor risks, assumptions, issues & dependencies and effect appropriate escalation to clear blockages and drive progress
  • Create clear and unambiguous status reports and proposals as necessary with messaging to succinctly summarize a topic and drive decision making at a senior level
  • Ability and willingness to get into the detail where required in order to demonstrate ownership and understanding of project objectives and partner requirements
  • Experience in structuring projects with expertise in analysis, specification gathering, capturing of requirements
  • Effect change control and ensure good governance through recording of decisions and capturing of audit trails
  • Able to effectively use project management office resources as necessary to support delivery
  • Evidence of handling varying sized projects, including successful track record of delivery on complex projects and projects in multiple offices
  • Awareness of business strategies and plans, and any key business issues and risks that could impact the project

Partner Management:

  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills; must be capable of interacting positively with senior business management, department heads and vendors
  • Experience of building and maintaining excellent relationships when dealing directly with project partners, both internally and externally
  • Able to build positive relationships and build consensus with other functions and business divisions and to interface and influence senior managers in the organization


  • Relevant project management certification (Prince2, PMP)
  • Practical experience in applying project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile)
  • Experience in use of testing, RAID or defect management tools such HP ALM/ Quality Centre
  • Degree level education or equivalent experience
  • Extensive business analysis experience
  • Detailed technical knowledge of project management and/or business analysis methodologies
  • Investment banking experience
  • Experience of project management methodologies in practice
  • Excellent documentation skills
  • Understanding of the full project implementation and system/ software development lifecycle
  • Knowledge of investment banking products, post trade execution business processes and front-to-back office functions
  • Experience in working on regulatory projects, including trade reporting
  • Ability to explain complex issues to suit the audience in a clear and concise manner
  • OTC and Listed derivatives product, execution and clearing knowledge desirable
