QA tester required for Rates client etrading systems. This role would involve understanding end to end flow and being able to document, plan and execute a set of test suites.

Team Overview:

The Rates Technology team is currently 50 people globally (and growing) geographically spread across Tokyo, India, London and New York. The team builds Technology solutions for Nomura's rates offering for delivery to flow rates desks across the globe.

The team is made up of two core units, RTB (Run the Bank) and CTB (Change the Bank).

RTB is responsible for 1st and 2nd line support, operating a 24*6 Follow the Sun support model which is backed up by 3rd level escalation to the CTB development team. The team also performs release management, environment management, disaster recovery and power down co-ordination.

CTB is responsible for mandatory and strategic project delivery for Nomura's rates offering, performing requirements gathering, design, development, testing, project management and governance. The team also provides a 3rd level escalation service to the RTB team.

Key deliverables critical to success of the role (if applicable):

  • Effective execution of Test Suites for front Office Trading Applications.
  • Clear Communication of test failures to relevant development teams.
  • Retest and confirmation of remediated tests.
  • Implementation of test scripts using industry tools.
  • Recording of Test Results using industry standard tools.

Required attributes:

  • Familiarity with QA tools and techniques, defect tracking systems and test design.
  • Experience of writing and executing manual test suites.
  • Experience of diagnosing, reporting, tracking and resolving quality issues.
  • Experience of working with a variety of development environments.
  • Familiarity with DBMS and able to write and execute SQL.
  • Experience of working within the financial services industry.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in writing, by phone and in person.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team when required.

Desired attributes:

  • Experience of developing and executing automated test suites.
  • Understanding of Fixed Income asset-classes, in particular Rates.
  • Experience of testing risk platforms.

Education

  • Educated to degree level or relevant industry experience.
  • ISEB Foundation at minimum, Intermediate or Practitioner preferred (or ISTQB equivalent).
