The Proxy Voting and Class Action team are part of Securities Administration section within Investment Operations and are responsible for monitoring and managing Proxy Votes and Class Actions.

The Proxy Voting and Class Action team are part of Securities Administration section within Investment Operations and are responsible for monitoring and managing Proxy Votes and Class Actions.

This role is available on a 6 month fixed term contract will create an opportunity to gain a broad awareness of M&G's business as there will be interaction with multiple areas including but not limited to Equities and Fixed Income Front Office, Corporate Finance and other teams within Investment Operations.

The team are encouraged to constantly identify and propose ways to mitigate risk. There will be opportunities to support business projects, including process efficiency improvements and fund launches.

Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Knowledge of shareholder and bond holder meetings across global markets, setting up new meetings, monitoring and processing new meetings, reviewing documentation, processing and investigating exceptions within Proxy Exchange and Aladdin.
  • Class Actions proceeds management including cheque processing
  • Provide an exceptional level of service to all internal and external stakeholders
  • Adhere to risk and control framework
  • Adhere to and review procedures
  • Adhere to Client Money policies
  • Ensure all relevant transactions are processed within deadlines
  • Contribute to management information statistics
  • Identify and propose solutions for process improvements
  • Ad-hoc support to Manager and team members

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Organised and logical approach to working
  • Experience of one or more of ProxyEdge, ProxyExchange, Viewpoint.
  • Knowledge of proxy voting and aware of consequences when issues arise within each of the processes
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and adhere to variable deadlines
  • Proactive approach
  • Must be able to use initiative to both resolve issues and identify long term solutions
  • Controls orientated thinking
  • Practical experience of Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent communication skills, with personnel at all levels
  • Approachable and helpful with good interpersonal skills
  • Team player, assisting colleagues where possible
  • Understanding of Power of Attorney's and set up. (Desirable)
  • Working knowledge of RecoverMax (Desirable)
  • IOC/IMC qualified (Desirable)
