We are seeking a candidate for a Fixed Income Production Support role with strong Amazon Web Services experience.

Role / Principal Accountabilities:

We are seeking a candidate for a Fixed Income Production Support role with strong Amazon Web Services experience.

Responsibilities will include providing 1st and 2nd line support under a Follow The Sun model for the Rates Trading desk. This includes in-house and vendor systems like Bloomberg, Broadway, Tradeweb, and AWS.

The ability to analyse and support electronic trading, including pricing/quoting, RFQ's, market data and hedging from various platforms is essential.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical and business knowledge of the Fixed Income business and the tasks\requirements of running within a fast paced environment with a can-do attitude, and will be expected to be able to to respond to and resolve support issues and look at remediation steps to prevent reoccurrence - handling the issue resolutions from reporting to resolution.

This is a global role so any potentical candidate will need to be able to work with and support counterparts in other regions to resolve and handover issues. As new platforms are built the operations members will be expected to take part in handover sesions to ensure successful transition into the production domain.

There will be direct interaction with the Cloud engineering team to escalate any recurring problems and feed back requirements that may require newly engineered solutions. At the same time, it will be important to develop and maintain strong relationships with users who will include developers, production support teams, and end business users.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Working knowledge of Fixed Income Rates products and flows (Credit and Swaps a bonus).
  • Experience with electronic trading applications have connectivity to external trading applications such as Bloomberg, Tradeweb,and Broadway to send/retrieve information.
  • Working knowledge of Risk, P&L, STP and Pricing/Quoting flows
  • Able to navigate in UNIX \ Windows proficently, reading and understanding the UNIX file system.
  • A good understanding ITIL practices.
  • Able to troubleshoot problems in multiple environments.
  • Ability to accurately document and share information with global peer group.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to multi-task, and work towards tight deadlines.
  • Able to handle a fast paced trading environment.
  • Experience of monitoring software and maintaining\improving rulebases.
  • Continuous monitoring of systems to ensure stability and reliability
  • Continual service improvement is a key tenet of the team and the successful candidate will be expected to look at efficiencies through scripting and orchestration so experience with devops technologies will be useful.
  • Strong AWS skills from a support and troubleshooting perspective.
  • An understanding of AWS best practice to support a stable production environment
  • Experience of supporting, administrating, monitoring and performance tuning AWS in a large environment.
  • Experience of AWS technologies such as EC2, S3, CloudWatch (or similar native monitoring tools) and IAM roles
  • An understanding of the Fixed Income business, including bonds, futures, swaps and repo.
  • An understanding of MIFID II requirements and implementation.

    • Minimum 2 years experience supporting AWS in an Operations type role (deployments, monitoring, stability).
    • Minimum 2 years experience supporting a Fixed Income Trading desk.

Bonus Skills:

    • Knowledge/Experience of using devops based tools (e.g. Ansible, puppet, jenkins)
    • Experience with log manipulation tools (e.g. Splunk, ELK)
    • Experience with migrations from on-premises to public and/or private clouds
    • Automation/Tooling Experience
    • Basic scripting and source control skills (e.g. Python, Bash, powershell and git)
    • 2+ years experience with Machine Learning in AWS
