Production Support Analyst
BGC's Production Support group in the London office provides 1 st and 2 nd level support to all of the Front Office Trading applications used by our customers; we support the whole front to back life cycle across all Asset classes for all of the BGC and its associated brands. Production Support are a Global Operation with staff in the Asia, EMEA and Americas regions.

You will be required to become familiar with the BGC technologies and bring ideas on how things can be improved. Good time management skills and the ability to work independently are required. First class communication skills at all levels from Junior to Board level are essential. Flexibility and dedication is needed to provide the ultimate customer service to all sectors of our client base. We work shifts but someone who is going to be clock watching isn't going to be a good fit. You will need to be able to react calmly and quickly in what is often a volatile environment with demanding customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing 2nd line support to a range of internally and externally created trading applications
  • Good knowledge of Financial Markets (Fixed Income, Foreign Exchange, Derivatives, Futures.)
  • Managing the production support incident queue
  • Supporting the first line e-Operations team
  • Liaising with internal, external customers, senior stakeholders and 3rd party vendors
  • Performing deep dive root cause analysis on issues passed to the team and raising JIRA tickets to development where a bug is identified.
  • Overseeing new projects coming into the team, ensuring that all documentation is in place and that all support members are prepared.
  • Identifying process improvement opportunities and automating manual tasks.
  • Documenting issues and new processes

Required Skills/Experience
  • Extremely good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Previous experience supporting electronic and voice trading systems
  • Highly motivated individual who is adaptable to change
  • SQL/Oracle/Sybase experience (Doesn't' have to be all three)
  • Strong UNIX experience
  • FIX experience
  • Understanding of STP trade flows
  • Good understanding of Network Connectivity

"Bonus" Experience
  • Familiar with the Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch/Kibana/Logstash....)
  • Familiar with Devops technologies such as Ansible/Chef/Puppet
  • Familiar with AWS
  • Experience with object orientated coding.
  • Experience with Jira Service Desk or other relevant service desk tool
  • Experience with Confluence or SharePoint
