Pro-Active Monitoring Engineer

Why is this role the next step for you? As part of the Pro-Active Monitoring team, you'll review our range of application and infrastructure related alerts to ensure accurate and valid alerting is in place. You'll improve Application Monitoring quality by tuning alerting, monitoring and actions for the infrastructure and application services, as well as lead investigations to resolve problems quickly. How will you contribute on a day-to-day basis? You'll identify, assess and implement monitoring improvements to our application and infrastructure services to improve performance, efficiency and stability of the production application services portfolio. You'll represent the application teams within project and operational discussions to ensure live service priority is understood and the correct level of monitoring is in place and you'll provide high standards of service from an SRO perspective in terms of service maintenance, new capability requests, fault prevention and resolution.

You'll provide technical expertise within the following technologies and disciplines: Automation and operating efficiency, Splunk, ServiceNow, AppDynamics and Tivoli/ BMC. What will make you the right fit for the team? You'll have experience in a system operation, application support or application development role, with a focus on system and application performance monitoring. We're looking for experience of various product sets, including BMC TrueSight, Splunk, Moogsoft, ServiceNow Event Management and CA UIM (formally Nimsoft). You'll have experience documenting corrective actions and knowledge articles (KBA), be proactive and able to juggle multiple requests and priorities.
