Our client is a leading player in the Private Equity sector. With AUM in excess of £9bn, this firm has a strong track record. This role is an exciting one and will afford someone a genuine opportunity to develop their career. You will be an integral part of the wider Finance team which consists of the corporate accounting team, the fund accounting team, the portfolio accounting team and treasury. You will be responsible for analysing the performance of the portfolio companies.

You will be an integral part of the wider Finance team which consists of the corporate accounting team, the fund accounting team, the portfolio accounting team and treasury. You will be responsible for analysing the performance of the portfolio companies.

The Role:

  • Ensure high quality financial outputs from Portfolio Companies and rolling them up to fund level.
  • Assist in embedding financial ownership and responsibility within Portfolio businesses through partnering with Executives, Operating Partners and nominated individuals within the Portfolio companies.
  • Being a highly competent sponsor and "super user" of iLevel, managing the system on an on-going basis, developing custom reports and additional data capture architecture as required to fulfil business needs.
  • Providing advice and assistance to other users (internally and across Portfolio Companies) aimed at ensuring effective and consistent usage.
  • Provide Committee leaders with deeper understanding and insightful analysis of information and trends and drawing conclusions and making recommendations.
  • Participate where required at Committee and other Partner board meetings internally.
  • Preparation of quarterly financial information for investor reports.
  • Preparation of fundraising and AGM materials
  • Building effective relationships with Investment executives.
  • Monitoring information to ensure that numbers are in line with agreed strategic plans, expectations and any forecasts.
  • Challenging and focussing the deal teams and management team on important trends by creating concise yet powerful reporting, aligned to team goals.
  • Ensure Portfolio company forecasts are realistic and prepared from a sound financial position.
  • Continuously and accurately monitoring and reviewing results and their impact on fund(s)/business and business plans and escalate any associated concerns as appropriate.
  • Providing valuable analysis and insight on results, underlying information, trends, information and their impacts for Portfolio Company, the Fund(s) and Firm.
  • Supervision of qualified financial accountants who will support you in this role.

Requirements:

  • You will be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a requisite amount of post-qualified experience.
  • You will have held relevant and commercial finance roles within the Financial Services sector.
  • Your experience could come from an FP&A background, from Transaction Services or from working in the Finance function of another Private Equity business.
  • You could also be doing a similar role elsewhere.
  • Experience of managing/supervising staff would be helpful.
  • Be systems savvy.
  • Able to build good business relationships both inside and outside the organisation.
