Portfolio Executive (Analyst)

The role is very important to the success of the fund and pivotal in the on-going management of the Secure Income Fund. The Portfolio Executive will work closely with the Assistant Portfolio Manager and Portfolio Manager, will attend the Fund's Investment Committee, and will be a role that combines a contribution to the portfolio management process with coordination of cashflow movements for the Fund.

Overview of the role:
The role is very important to the success of the fund and pivotal in the on-going management of the Secure Income Fund. The Portfolio Executive will work closely with the Assistant Portfolio Manager and Portfolio Manager, will attend the Fund's Investment Committee, and will be a role that combines a contribution to the portfolio management process with coordination of cashflow movements for the Fund. The Portfolio Executive is also expected to be an ambassador for the fund (both internally and externally).

The role is rich and diverse. As well as working closely with the Assistant Portfolio Manager, Portfolio Manager and Investment Committee of the Fund, the Portfolio Executive would be required to work directly and indirectly with a large number of different teams, including: implementation, operations, client onboarding, quant and systems, product development, manager research, ODD, PMG, SPS, legal and tax advisors, managers and client teams.

Specific responsibilities of the role:

Fund governance

Help manage and fully participate in formal Investment Committee portfolio management meetings for the fund, which focus on investment selection and setting the strategic direction of the Fund. The Portfolio Executive will lead the production of relevant material for, and take the minutes for, these meetings

Be an integral part of the Investment Executive, which is largely responsible for delivering and executing the decisions made at the Investment Committee

Manage and improve robust processes for the tracking of cash-flows and underlying asset positions of the fund, and working with the compliance and risk teams to ensure appropriate reporting of these positions

Work with the relevant internal teams (including onboarding, fiduciary and advisory Portfolio Management teams, and SPS) to ensure the Investment Committee and Investment Executive have a complete and up to date understanding of the client pipeline

Investment execution

On an ongoing basis, consider all portfolio management decisions and cashflow needs to assist in the development of recommendations for all cashflow movements and follow up to ensure their implementation

Responsible for managing and project managing the process of adding new investments to the portfolio, including adding investments to the relevant investment tracking systems

Assisting in working around the issues of potentially accepting 'in-specie' assets into the fund

Management of the fund

Assist with producing management information for PMG, SPS and the TWIM management team

Assist with the overall production of the regular reporting, including ensuring the quality of information received from the underlying managers is of a consistent quality

Liaising with colleagues who work in the fiduciary and advisory Portfolio Management teams to ensure that all information needs are being met

Representing the fund

Build robust relationships with managers/other service providers

Support investor servicing and marketing efforts by coordinating the provision of information, producing written material, and helping to improve investor and marketing materials for both internal and external clients as required.

Represent the SIF on underlying Investment Advisory Committees, etc

The Requirements

A working understanding of pension fund liabilities and their accounting, or a background in accountancy - not a requirement, but would be viewed positively

Knowledge and understanding of different illiquid asset classes would be desirable, but ability to demonstrate a passion for illiquid asset investment is a must

Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as the ability to communicate complex data in graphical forms

Able to fit seamlessly into a team of people with diverse personalities and backgrounds all focussed on delivering work of exceptional quality
