Job Description:

Team Overview

The Portfolio Compliance Group (PCG) is a global group which sits within Global Acounting and Product Services (GAAPS) and is one of the core functions within the Business Operations Group at BlackRock. Portfolio Compliance is responsible for implementing and running controls & processes to ensure we are compliant with all applicable regulatory and portfolio issued guidelines. It covers trading and investments, including pre- and post-trade compliance, implementation of regulatory changes within the group, and regulatory reporting & disclosure activities. PCG works very closely with the Legal & Compliance department (L&C), as well as with the Portfolio Management teams and other groups.

The Regualtory Reporting / Disclosures team is primarily responsible for the monitoring and reporting of the large shareholdings, short trading and Takeover Panel transaction to each of the regulators in EMEA, covering all global investments in these countries, as well as responding to internal and external requests for information on the firms positions in companies and securities. The group is engaged with and provides services to many other departments across the firm in particular Portfolio Management, Legal & Compliance, and Corporate Governance, as well as working closely with other Business Operations and Technology teams. It is one of the highest areas of focus in EMEA at present due to the increasing complexity and importance of European regulatory requirements for shareholding reporting.

Role Responsibility

The specific role will be primarily focused on Regulatory Reporting / Disclosures activities for the EMEA team.

Key Responsibilities:

► Day to day support for the Regulatory Reporting / Disclosures Team. This involves:

    ► Report holdings that have reached prescribed thresholds

    ► Review system reports of shareholdings against trade movements

    ► Make necessary disclosures in an accurate and timely manner

    ► Maintain clear records of all filings and communications

► Drive improvements in relation to processes and controls that create capacity and scale

► Support further automation of processes

► Engage with colleagues from different departments in a timely, accurate, and professional manner

► Support colleagues with internal and external queries relating to shareholdings

► Maintain and document procedures

Experience

Knowledge / Experience:

► Experience of working in the investment management industry or investment banking

► Experience of regulatory shareholding disclosures is a preference, but not a necessity

► Working in a team with daily, important deadlines, performing complex tasks

► Proof or performing important work accurately and consistently, following set procedures

Skills / Qualifications:

► Strong IT skills

► Proficient in Microsoft applications, i.e., PowerPoint, Excel, and Word

► Strong academics with a background in finance or similar fields

► Experience with Visual Basic / SQL (preferable)
