We are ready to welcome a PR Manager to support the transformation and the future growth of the business within the Marketing function, so it can operate as an integrated marketing team that positions Canada life as a market leader in the UK, by creating a single ‘One Canada Life’ brand, delivering a seamless digital experience for our customers and employees, and bring the brand to life.
What you’ll be doing
Managing PR support, both proactive and reactive, across all business areas. Supporting the Head of Media and PR in delivery of the PR strategy, and working closely with the external agency, meeting the defined targets and objectives.
How you’ll make a difference
Working across business areas to deliver a proactive PR programme, highlighting opportunities to promote Canada Life at a brand level while also supporting product messaging. This will include the drafting and issue of press releases and comments directly to media, including trade, personal finance and consumer media.
The successful candidate will manage and develop media relationships and support our leaders and company spokespeople on media days.
Working with our PR agency to achieve maximum value from the relationship, identifying news and comment opportunities and help deliver campaigns.
To be a point of contact for reactive and crisis communications, working with business leads, Heads of Marketing, Head of Media and PR, Marketing Director and Exec where appropriate to develop relevant messaging and communications.
Deliver articles and engaging content for adviser trade media.
Engage with our digital team to deliver social media content ensuring PR content is maximised across all relevant channels.
By working with the Head of Media Relations you’ll ensure PR is tracked against relevant metrics and evaluation, feeding into Board and other committees as required.
Who you are

◾Have strong written, oral and interpersonal skills, and a sound knowledge of how the media works
◾Strong experience of media relations, with a track record with evidence of working with personal finance journalists at nationals, trade media and relevant vertical press
◾A hunger to learn new market sectors and show flexibility in being able to manage and adapt to fast changing priorities
◾Preferably qualified to CIM or CIPRE
