The Opportunity:

As a Personal Assistant in the Data Management team at M&G you will work closely with senior managerial and director level staff to provide administrative support, organisational skills and become part of a well driven and busy team.

PA's need extensive knowledge of the organisation in which they work. You will need to know who key personnel are (both external and internal) and understand the organisation's aims and objectives.

The role represents an excellent opportunity to be part of the critical Data Management team, focussed on delivering accurate data to all business units in a timely manner. It also provides a great opportunity to develop an understanding of the M&G business and the data environment which supports it.

The successful candidate will be a strong team player with an excellent attitude, wanting to learn how the Data Content team deliver to high standards on a daily basis and get involved from the outset.

The Team:

Data Management is responsible for delivering business critical data across multiple stakeholders and applications through services including Data Content, Valuations, Business Data Analysis, Market Data Services and Data Governance.

You will be responsible for the following tasks:

* Provide general support for the Director of Data Management and at times the Director team of 4.
* Devising and maintaining office systems, including data management, diary management, document production and minute taking.
* Screening phone calls, enquiries and requests, and handling them when appropriate.
* Meeting and greeting visitors at all levels of seniority.
* Organising and maintaining diaries and making appointments.
* Dealing with incoming email corresponding on behalf of the head of area.
* There are a number of market data businesses that meetings will need to be co-ordinated and managed.
* Producing documents, briefing papers, reports and presentations.
* Organising and attending meetings and ensuring the manager is well prepared for meetings.
* Liaising with clients, suppliers and other staff.
* Support the management team of 6 people.
* The broader data management team is 50 people and throughout the year there will be team events that will need to be coordinated.

What we are looking for:

You will take pride in working to a high standard and thrive within a changing environment, showing initiative and drive. It is essential to be a proactive self-starter, with the ability to identify problems and have the drive to follow them through to resolution. Good interpersonal skills are highly important, with the ability to record and communicate clearly and effectively, both written and orally. You will have excellent attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently to set deadlines, as well as this you will be able to generate and maintain positive relationships within the team and across the business. You will possess strong IT skills, including Outlook and Microsoft Office - specifically Word and PowerPoint. A relevant qualification, such as IOC/IMC is also a must.
