The SME Advanced Solutions platform is a new initiative sponsored by BNP Paribas Asset Management to provide alternative credit to SMEs on a pan-European scale. The origination manager will focus on the expanding loans originators’ partners across the various European countries where we will be positioning ourselves. As such, the candidate will hold a critical role in the growth of the Platform and its strategic initiatives providing valuable feedback on originators’ expectations as well as on market and competition, helping shaping and developing a relevant offer.

The SME Advanced Solutions platform is a new initiative sponsored by BNP Paribas Asset Management to provide alternative credit to SMEs on a pan-European scale. The credit decision-making process relies on proprietary credit scoring methodologies, integrated IT developments and high automation in accessing companies’ data. This initiative enables BNP Paribas Asset Management to offer exposure to a new and attractive asset class to its investors, either via funds or dedicated format for institutional investors.
 
The origination manager will focus on the expanding loans originators’ partners across the various European countries where we will be positioning ourselves. In particular, they will be looking at closing partnerships with regional banks and local actors (alternative lending platforms, intermediaries, ..), positioning the loans granted through the platform as an additional offering to their existing product range. As such, the candidate will hold a critical role in the growth of the Platform and its strategic initiatives providing valuable feedback on originators’ expectations as well as on market and competition, helping shaping and developing a relevant offer.

Key Responsibilities/Areas:

The role encompasses:

• Strengthening and development of the relationship with a selected network of originators mainly made up of financial institutions (traditional banks, challenger banks, credit institutions) and disruptors in the financial arena (Alternative Lending Platforms…), across our geographical footprint
• Sourcing if/when needed new originators or prescribers, coordinating and supporting the due diligence / on-boarding process
• Follow-up and assessment of the products and solutions to be provided to borrowers in order to maintain and develop the relationship with our prescribers and originators
• Reporting of originators’ expectations, needs and feedback as well as market and competition intelligence on products, services
• Remain alert on technological innovations and new delivery format to our originators

The fulfilment of this role will require the incumbent to interact with the different teams of the Platform but also, externally, with various stakeholders from BNP Paribas AM or more generally from BNP Paribas group (in areas such as client coverage, etc), to represent the Platform and its solutions in various forums and events and ultimately to contribute to the Platform strategy and positioning.

• Proven successful and extensive experience in client – relationship management and development (with Financial institutions: Banks, Credit Institutions) with a solid understanding of their corporate clients needs and constrains.
• Strong knowledge of Corporate lending (SME lending in particular)
• Fluent  in English (spoken and written) plus another language would be an advantage
